It is time for some Weekend Fun!! What are your plans? Haven’t made any yet?! Well, there is no time like the present. Did I hear you right? You really don’t have anything to do? Okay, it is time to solve that problem.
Here is how this weekend went for my husband and I. Friday morning Phillip asked me to come up with something to do. We had no plan at that point. While sitting at work I decided it would be fun to go to the casino. So I called Phillip and told him what I was thinking about and he made it happen. By the time I got home from work he had us a room reserved for the night. All that was left to do was to throw a few things in a bag and hop in the car! The casino is about 4 hours away so we stopped and took some pictures and flew the drone to break up the ride.
We got to the casino and played some slots and 3 card poker. We stayed up playing until about 4:00 in the morning!
Around 7:00 we received a phone call from our daughter, Cindy, letting us know that David, our son, who is deployed with the Marines, was online. Well, of course, we had to get up and chat with him. We haven’t heard from him for almost a month so we didn’t mind that we only had about 3 hours of sleep!
We played a little while before we headed home but not long because Cindy was at our house waiting for us with our grandchildren, Bronson and Ally, and our new granddog, Deisel.
This was a surprise visit! I love when they come to see us. They stayed the night and left around noon. Now Phillip and I are just relaxing in the recliners while we decide what to do with the rest of our Sunday.
Here is my challenge to you. Think of something fun that you have been wanting to do. This needs to be something you can do in one weekend. It can be just an evening or a day, or the whole weekend. Then I want you to post what you are going to do in the comments. This will give others ideas when next weekend rolls around!
I know at first it is hard to just do things without planning them out days and weeks in advance. That’s what you do when you have children. You don’t have to do that anymore! Just decide what you want to do and do it!
Ideas For Weekend Fun
Do you like eating out? Go to TripAdvisor and type in your area and find the best restaurants close to you and pick one that sounds good. They haven’t steered us wrong yet. This is what we do no matter where we are, especially if it is someplace we have never been.
How about the Zoo? Believe it or not, they do allow you in without children! I love the zoo. I love looking at all the animals and actually taking the time to stop at the signs and read about them.
If you like plants and flowers then go to the Botanical Gardens. Take your camera and get some pictures. You could have them printed and make some wall art.
Go see a movie. I know it is hard to even think about watching something that isn’t animated but there really are some good adult movies out there. Get some popcorn and some candy and just enjoy the show.
If you like music then how about going to a concert? You could check out the local talent at the clubs around town. If there’s no one playing that you want to see then look at the cities around you and make a weekend of it. Get a hotel and spend the night!
An outdoorsy type person might like to go to a state park and go hiking or have a picnic. If you really want to get wild then get out that old tent and go camping for the night. Start a fire and roast some marshmallows without having to worry that one of your little ones will get in it.
So those are just a few things off the top of my head. Now it’s your turn. What will you do for your weekend fun? Will you sit around the house watching tv and napping or are you going to get out there and enjoy yourself? Not me!!!
Don’t forget to post what you decide to do in the comments!
